My TIA – shock, reset, and a new beginning

August was a quiet month for me.

I took some time off after suffering a TIA, a minor stroke. It felt like a reset.

This moment shook me to my core. I was shocked, completely thrown off track.

How could this happen to me? I had never seen myself as at risk. I had done WildFit, lost weight, changed my diet. Was my body punishing me for not eating ideally and not exercising enough for many years?

These thoughts were there—and they tormented me.

Today I know that the idea of “punishment” is an old pattern. Behind it lies the desire for control: if I do everything right, nothing bad will happen to me.

But that's not how life works. There are energetic patterns at work, some visible, some not. And it's good that we don't know everything – we would be overwhelmed. This way, we can grow with every challenge.

Withdrawal and fear

After the TIA, I didn't dare go out alone anymore. Driving, cycling, swimming—my doctor had forbidden me to do any of those things anyway.

I listened to my body anxiously: Was there pressure in my head? Did anything feel different than usual? Every little change felt threatening.

I withdrew, made myself small.

And I realized:

This is how many people with back pain feel too.

Movement hurts, so you prefer to stay on the couch. There, it's pain-free—but the world becomes smaller, more confined. And we don't want that.

Accepting help

I am grateful that I had support:

From my family, who took on some of my responsibilities.

From coaches, who helped me recognize the message behind it all.

From the Quantum Touch community, who lovingly supported me and showed me that healing is possible. My body is not working against me—it is working for me.

Slowly, I began to rebuild my confidence. First cycling with someone else, then alone. First small steps, then bigger ones.

A new Normal

I don't want to go back to my old “normal.”

I want a new life, with more breaks, more self-care, more space for what's really important to me. Less pressure, less perfectionism, less “I have to function.”

I want to let go of old patterns:

working too much

not taking breaks

always being there for others

being a high achiever who never fails

And I want to strengthen new things:

enjoying the sun

spending time with my daughters

laughing, being lighthearted

appreciating breaks

taking myself more seriously

finally doing what I've been planning to do for so long: reading more, learning Italian

What you can take away for yourself

Perhaps you have already experienced your body stopping you—whether through back pain, exhaustion, or other symptoms.

Perhaps you feel that things cannot go on like this.

My TIA was a reset for me.

A stop sign.

An invitation to take a look: What do I need right now? What is important to me?

👉 And you can do the same for yourself—without waiting for the big bang:

Listen to the quiet signals. Your body talks to you before it screams.

Allow yourself breaks. They are not a luxury, they are healing.

Ask yourself honestly: Where am I holding back energy? Where am I putting pressure on myself?

Seek support. You don't have to walk the path alone.

I am so grateful for every tapping session, every insight, everything I have already resolved for myself. Perhaps that is why it was “only” a TIA, just a minor stroke with no lasting damage. I am so thankful for that.

Many of you carry similar patterns within yourselves.

If you feel it's time to take yourself seriously, to break new ground, and to understand the messages your body is sending you, then I invite you to walk this path with me.

💛 Feel free to sign up for my newsletter, where you'll find all the dates for free group tapping sessions.

Or book my 3-session package: three sessions in which we work on 1 of your issues—without having to committ to a major transformation right away. Small steps can make such a big difference.
